A Note About Covid - 19

A Note About Covid - 19

Winer Acupuncture, Inc. Covid-19 Plan

Dear Patients,
We care deeply about patient health and have implemented several infection prevention measures to ensure the highest level of safety when you visit our clinic.  Following guidance from the MN Department of Labor, MN Department of Health, CDC, the MN Board of Medical Practice, and The NCCAOM.

We are keeping a very controlled and safe environment for our patients, visitors, and providers.

We are asking that you reschedule your appointment if you have a dry cough, you have a fever, your are having trouble breathing or having chest pain due to illness, your sense of smell has decreased, or you are feeling ill in any way. Reschedule if you have been exposed to anyone with a positive Coronavirus test (known exposure), or anyone who is suspected of having the virus (suspected case).

Please reschedule if you have traveled in an airport in the last 2 weeks or 14 days.  If you have been exposed to someone known or suspected to have Covid-19, you should self-quarantine for 14 days before coming in for an appointment or going out into the public.

If you are sick, you must wait 72 hours after the last symptoms disappear and go 72 hours without a fever, before scheduling an appointment with us.

Going anywhere in public right now carries a risk of getting covid-19, our office included.  If you have a health condition that causes your immune system to be suppressed (heart conditions, lung conditions, autoimmune conditions), or if you are on medication that lowers immune function, we recommend you consider rescheduling your appointment.

If you are sick, or have been exposed to someone who is sick, please contact us…we need to know, and we can help guide you through what you should do, and if you should head to the ER.
If anyone in the office has been or becomes sick, we will report it to the MN Department of Health, our building manager, and any patients or visitors that may have been affected by it.  We are required to do so.  Your personal information will remain anonymous, unless we are directed by a governing body to release personal information.

The office will be forced to close again if Jennifer E WinerL.Ac., Dipl.Ac., MSOM gets sick, or has an exposure to the virus and is forced to self-quarantine. We will contact you if this happens.

For patients being seen in our clinic, the CDC is now recommending that all staff, patients and visitors cover their faces in health care facilities. To help reduce the spread of COVID-19, we are requiring patients to bring and wear a face covering (such as protective mask or cloth covering) to any upcoming appointments.

Masks or cloth coverings must be worn over your mouth and nose for the duration of your appointment. All of us will be wearing masks to help reduce the spread of COVID-19. If you do not have access to a face covering, the CDC website has guidelines for making no-sew, cloth face coverings. You can also use a scarf, buff, or bandana. Additionally, masks can be purchased from many local and online retailers.

We are requiring an appointment to enter the office.  In order to keep people out of our small waiting room, we are asking that you wait in your car until your appointment time, and then come up to the office.  If you arrive and there is someone in the waiting room, we ask that you wait in the building hallway for someone to come greet you.  We are attempting to keep our waiting room more like a hallway.  All people entering the office must have their temperature checked.  If your temperature is above 100.4, it will be rechecked, and if still high you will need to reschedule.

We are scheduling people with more time in between each visit. This allows the extra time needed to clean all surfaces, and to prevent patients from being in the office at the same time.  We will practice social distancing in the hallway by letting people pass before stepping out of treatment rooms.

We are asking that you do not bring any unnecessary people with you to your appointment, with the exception of a guardian with a child or assistance with mobility.  Also, please follow the 6 feet social distancing guidelines as much as possible throughout the office and the building.

Rest assured that every surface you come into contact with has been sanitized prior to the arrival of each and every patient entering our practice, and it will be cleaned again as you exit. We will be frequently washing our hands between interactions as per our usual protocol, and you’ll also see hand sanitizer throughout the practice for your use, as well as ours.

If you have any questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to call us. On Monday 5/11/2020 we will begin regular office hours.
We appreciate your efforts to help protect yourself, the people in the clinic, and our entire community.
